DG INDIA Mysore Intensive
Kovalam, India

David’s Kovalam Mysore Intensive is a nonresidential intensive. Students find their own lodging and food at any one of the dozens of hotels and restaurants. It is easy to find acommodations that suit your budget.
Mysore Intensive Track 1 or Track 2
There are two tracks to the Kovalam Mysore Intensive.
Track 1
Track 1 includes daily Mysore class, Sunday Talk, Pranayama, and Yoga Sutra classes.
The Pranayama class meets Mondays and Fridays after the daily Mysore class and Led class for a half hour. In order to be eligible to participate in the pranayama class the student will agree to practice the sequence they are given independently the other 4 days of the practice week.
The Yoga Sutra class meets for 1 hour on Wednesdays after the Mysore class. In order to be eligible the student must order the chanting materials and agree to chant and study independently the other 2 days of the practice week.

*Please note advanced registration via the application is required for Track 1. If a student plans to attend the Intensive from Feb 15th-Feb 27th they will need to gain permission from David to sign up for Track 1.

Track 2
Track 2 includes daily Mysore class and talk on Sunday.

The course work will help us to build a bridge between personal practice and becoming an effective teacher.You will learn to clearly articulate the subtle, intricate and valuable teachings of yoga.

-Adjustment techniques that emerge from asana research including therapeutics
-Effective use of hatha techniques that support asana (bandha’s dristi etc)
-Inquiry into meditation in practice
-The role of pranayama

-Use of tantric imagery
-Seeing the body based on bio mechanics of posture and movement,
-Philosophical studies that are accessed through chanting of sacred texts
-Contemplating the meaning and finding the practical applications of the texts
*All students who want to participate in the Teacher’s Intensive must be registered for Track 1 of the Kovalam Mysore Intensive.
Traveling to Kovalam
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL: Trivandrum is the capital of Kerala and has both domestic and international airports, so there are many options for incoming flights to India.

Ayurvedic Treatments
Lastly, the state of Kerala is known for its study of Ayurvedic medicine. Kovalam has many Ayurvedic restaurants, clinics, and spas that students can utilize. Last year many of the students had daily Ayurvedic treatments and took advantage of this resource to bring additional benefit to their practice.
